USA International Harp Competition Laureate 2025
Experience an evening of exquisite harp artistry with Shamim Minoo, recent Laureate of the prestigious USA International Harp Competition. Her program spans three centuries—from Duphly's graceful French salon piece to Henriette Renié's dramatic Pièce Symphonique and Tournier's impressionistic Images. The journey continues with Fauré's flowing Impromptu, Spohr's lyrical Fantaisie, and a meditative contemporary work by Philippe Hersant inspired by Afghanistan's Bamyan valley.
World Premiere: Mozart Flute & Harp Concerto K.299, Jazz Harmonica / Harp version
Experience Mozart's timeless Concerto for Flute and Harp like never before in this world premiere jazz adaptation. Reimagined for jazz harmonica and harp with string quartet, this innovative performance transforms the classical elegance of Mozart's masterpiece into something fresh and unexpected. The original's graceful melodies and enchanting dialogue between soloists take on new colours—the harmonica and harp bends and swings with jazz inflection, all framed by the warmth of string quartet.
Acclaimed contemporary jazz harmonica player CY Leo and renowned harpist Park Stickney will take the stage together with top local musicians Stretto String Quartet, presenting a jazz-infused adaptation of a Mozart classic.
Stickney will also perform with the Hong Kong Harp Chamber Ensemble, a group of young local harpists, in a jazz harp suite.
